Known as the green-haired witch Black Starr Planet, BiG SiSSY makes pro-Black, pro-sex, beat-driven music. A self-described drag-pop act, BiG SiSSY is famous for presenting social issues through a camp lens to laugh at the absurdity and horror of it all. Drawing inspiration from icons like Prince and Peaches, their sound is infused with the energy of 80's drum machines and electric guitars—creating a foundation that’s both retro and fresh. 

Over time, her live performances naturally evolved into a narrative-driven experience, culminating in The BiG SiSSY Show: The Message—a 30-minute rock opera that made its striking debut at Toronto’s 40th annual Rhubarb Festival. The Message explores BiG SiSSY’s origins and her earthly mission through themes of Afro-futurism and the search for homelands.

SiSSY has shared stages with renowned queer icons such as Backxwash and John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig & The Angry Inch), cementing her status as a live sensation. Her electrifying stage presence has earned her a place on Cult Montreal’s Top 5 Freakiest Musical Acts list for six consecutive years (2018-2023) and garnered her a devoted cult following.
